Every so often, Zac and I like to venture North to the suburb of Evanston. It’s such a charming place, with Northwestern University’s gorgeous 150+ year old campus sitting in the center of town. We love to stroll past the old mansions of Sheridan Road and dine at one of the new restaurants or bars that have been popping up as of late. Last weekend we checked out Found Kitchen and Social House located on Chicago Ave.
The food was sensational. I am no food photographer, so I will not horrify you with my attempts to capture images of our meal, but oh my goodness every bite was delicious. The plates are meant to be shared which made it fun for us because we can never decide what to order and we usually want to try everything. Of all that we ordered, I highly recommend the decadent lamb meatballs and the absolute best gin cocktail I have ever had: G&T Rethunk. This rustic new American menu did not disappoint.
The decor was beautiful. Warm, cozy, romantic, a little sexy – everything you want out of a date spot. This is definitely a place to take a date but I would totally come back with friends and fam too. There is a lot to love about Found and I was particularly moved to learned that Found has a social mission to “hire and train people coming out of homelessness”. This makes me so happy and adds a unique layer of meaning to the whole dining experience.
