It’s official. Thanksgiving is over and we’re moving right on to the next holiday! We’ve been busy planning for St. Nick, decorating our home, baking for fun and for gifting and shopping for presents. Perusing through this month’s issue of Midwest Living, I found the cutest idea for a DIY candy cane Christmas tree. It requires only a few items that you probably already have on-hand and is easy to do with even your littlest elves helping.
- Cut four pieces of baker’s twine, with the longest string being 26 inches. I shortened each subsequent string by about 2 inches.
- Using either mini or large candy canes (we used minis), knot them onto the string leaving about 2 inches between each candy cane.
- Once your candy canes are knotted onto the string use either thumb tacks or staples to adhere them to the wall. We used staples and covered them with colorful washi tape.
- Finish of your tree with a star-shaped gift wrap bow.
