The Brookfield Zoo, located just west of Chicago, has been one of the summer’s biggest surprises for us. Whether we go on a weekday or weekend, for half a day or just a few hours, we always have a great time exploring all the Zoo has to offer.
The Brookfield Zoo is located just off the Eisenhower Expressway—a quick 15 minute drive for those of us located in Humboldt Park or Logan Square. It’s open 365 days, parking is plentiful, there’s way more to see than you can cover in a day and there’s a beer garden with a pretty nice selection of brews.
If you plan on visiting the Brookfield Zoo more than just one time, it’s worth it to check out their membership options. We purchased a 1 year membership for $79, which we were easily able to pay for in just a few visits as a family of 3.
